PROJECT: IsisCB branding
DATE: March/April 2014-spring 2015
OBJECTIVE: Creation of a consistent brand for the history of science-focused bibliography's cover and web presence.
NOTES: The IsisCB publication required a brand reflecting the science history focus - not the Egyptian namesake. I started with the latter, to see how far the theme could be pushed, but ultimately a very strong preference for non-Egyptian samples was clear.
After taking several different approaches and many iterations, the final design featured artistic elements evocative of brush strokes, and of course, a book. What I enjoyed most about this project was how many different things people saw in the forms. It is a simple design, but still evokes a variety of meanings and appropriate allusions for viewers.
